The Story Behind Confidante: Why We’re Creating This for Moms

Like all great origin stories, ours began with a spark—an undeniable connection that neither of us saw coming, but one that would change everything.

A Connection That Sparked Something Bigger

For some reason, our mutual friend Jayne felt we had to meet. We’re grateful she trusted that inner knowing. At first, our interactions were brief and sporadic, but something kept pulling us back to each other.

Our first joint project was born out of a mutual love for language, emotions, and Brené Brown. She had just launched Atlas of the Heart, and we saw an opportunity to bring this work to more people.

The group was small—just seven of us—but mighty. We met weekly to create a safe space for vulnerability. Behind the scenes, we effortlessly divided responsibilities, allowing each other the freedom to create without pressure. That experience laid the foundation for our dynamic, leading to book clubs, coaching best practices, and eventually, a weekly mind-share session every Friday morning.

The Deep Realization That Changed Everything

Roughly six months ago, an idea started forming. As certified coaches and activists, we spend our days immersed in the realities of women’s lives. Over time, we came to a stark realization: our thoughts, self-perceptions, and confidence are heavily influenced by societal conditioning, privilege, and lack of support.

And for moms, this pressure is even greater.

Moms Are Carrying Too Much—And It’s By Design

Women—especially moms—are more likely to doubt themselves, put everyone else’s needs first, and be held to impossibly high standards of success. They are expected to multitask (even though it’s impossible), make endless daily decisions, and shoulder more responsibilities than any one person should.

And they do all of this with virtually no systemic or structural support.

This realization hit us hard. We wanted to marry our love for self-reflection with our passion for creating systemic change. And we knew exactly where to start—with moms, a demographic that is both deeply important to us and struggling immensely.

What If There Was a Different Way?

What if moms had a place where they could unravel everything they’ve been conditioned to believe about themselves?

What if they could separate societal expectations from their real lives?

What if this space felt safe, free from judgment and bias, allowing moms to bring their deepest worries and fears without fear of repercussions?

What if, instead of telling moms they need external validation or advice to navigate motherhood “the right way,” we created a space that reminded them that they already know what’s best for themselves and their families?

What if there was a secure way that moms could harness AI as a super power to help as a mental load manager, keeper of important memories, personal assistant and self trust builder?

Our Promise to You

We know this is radical. It goes against everything we’ve been conditioned to believe. But we also see the world pulling us further and further away from ourselves, into a culture of seeking external validation, praise, and power—and the results aren’t good.

As one of our favorite spiritual teachers says, “The egoic self is always engaged in seeking. It is seeking more of this or that to add to itself, to make itself feel more complete.” From birth, we’re trained to show up this way. It breeds productivity and dollar signs, but it’s not working.

We’re lonely. We’re burnt-out. And we hate to sound dramatic, but we’re dying under this weight.

Do we really want to pass this way of living down to our children?

Our answer to that is absolutely no.

So, we’re trusting our guts, our intuition, and our inner knowing. We’ve spent the time getting still with ourselves, and from that place, we’re building. Stillness. Trust. Collaboration. Intention. This is how we will continue to grow Confidante.

We promise to be open, honest, and transparent. We admit upfront that we have so much to learn. What we believe today might shift tomorrow as we gather new insights—and we’re okay with that.

Our goal in sharing this with you is to build trust and to show that so much of what women dream of is possible. If sharing our journey makes that even a little bit easier for someone else, then we’re all in.

We are here to be part of a societal wake-up call—and we’re starting with moms. Because while moms are undoubtedly the most overworked and underappreciated group, they also have the greatest capacity to change the world.
